A TEENAGE RNLI volunteer was named as a finalist in a prestigious awards ceremony.
Josh Reason, 17, began his volunteering journey with the RNLI Harwich Lifeboat Station as a shore crew member, just over two years ago.
He was named as a finalist in the 2023 Tendring Youth Awards.
The Tendring Youth Awards are dedicated to fostering a positive perception of young individuals.
Their primary objective is to shine a spotlight on and celebrate the achievements of young people and their dedicated contributions to the Tendring community and its surroundings.
Having already had a deep-rooted passion for sailing, Josh also wanted to follow in his father's footsteps.
Although he is one of the station's youngest members, he has advanced to become a crewman and participates in both inshore and offshore lifeboat operations.
An RNLI spokesman said: "Josh's commitment knows no bounds, as he remains on call 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, all while pursuing an apprenticeship.
"He has been involved in numerous emergency service callouts, diligently completing all required training and even contributing to fundraising efforts for the RNLI."
