WEST End performer Michael Watson returns to his hometown of Clacton to headline a charity show on Sunday.***13***.
Michael who is currently in the hit musical Sister Act after a long run in We Will Rock You, will be singing some heavenly music to the ladies at The Mothers Day music hall.
Michael is using his only day off from the West End show to visit his family in Vicarage Gardens and appear in the charity show at the theatre where he launched his career.
The show at the West Cliff Theatre has been put together by Reg and Bob Young and includes several young performers who started their careers at the theatre.
Michael who was trained as a dancer and singer at the town’s Tiffany Stage Academy, made his professional debut in the town’s summer season show before landing his West End role.
The show also includes two other former Clactonians, professional singer Karen Keith and magician Scott Pepper who is working around the world.
Vince Rayner who used to sing the Hi de Hi theme tune for the popular television series is on the bill together with local favoruite Ann Dante, teenager Daisy Tiddiman from St Osyth and ten-year-old classical singer William Rudkin from Frinton.
