CLACTON gets a third showing on television’s Flog It.
And on Friday’s programme***19***a charity worker gives her auction money to a local charity.
Sylvia Krelle***corr* who works in the charity shop at the Clacton and District Occupational workship in Old Road dug out a large terrine she had been given and was packed away in a cupboard and took it to the Princes Theatre when the television crew visited in Septmber Expert Elizabeth Talbot identified it as a Herend procelaine terrine and was delighted to find it in perfect conditon with its small apple handle in tact.
Mrs Krelle who lives in the Howard Vyse Court in St Johns Road said they agreed on a price of £80-£120.
At the auction at Colchester Mrs Krelle said she was “thrilled and very excited” to see the bids go on rising.
The terrine made £220 and Mrs Krelle gave the money to the charity where she works.
“It was all so exciting. I did it for the charity- they are such a wonderful organisation and just dont get enough acknowledgements.”
Mrs Krelle who has worked in the shop one morning a week for the last nine months has now got the auction bug and has been clearing out other pieces to go to auction for the charity.
