PANTO fans can get a final fix of their favourite entertainment with two late productions running this weekend.

Jack and the Beanstalk comes to Great Bentley while Alice in WI Land is St Osyth WI Drama Group's post-Christmas show.

Bentley Green Players are promising a great evening of entertainment for all the family with their traditional reworking the panto classic.

Principal boy Bethan Powell plays Jack Trot, while Doug Garner shows there is nothing like a dame in his role as Dame Trot.

He is backed by wife Aline playing the part of Jack's brother, Woody, and his daughter Faith playing the Jack's girlfriend Sally.

Show writer Bruce Gardner said: "We also have a great team of youngsters who are really looking forward to the production and who have put a lot of hard work into learning their lines and songs to entertain our audiences."

The three-night run starts this evening at Great Bentley village hall with shows at 7.30pm and a 2.30pm Saturday matinee.

Tickets are £7 (£3.50 children) from Deli-licious or phone Peter on 07503 153960.

St Osyth's WI Drama Group is staging Alice in WI Land at St Osyth village hall, Clacton Road, this Friday and Saturday, with performances at 7pm and a 2pm Saturday matinee.

Tickets are £5 (£2.50 children) from John Stiff estate agents on 01255 820424 or 01255 820949.
