CLACTON pop wannabe Greg West says he's "gutted" about crashing out of the X Factor after losing the sing-off to boyband rivals Union J.
Greg’s band District3 performed Bruno Mars’ hit Just The Way You Are.
But the judges dumped them out of the competition – voting for Union J, who sang Fire to the Rain by Adele.
Greg, who went to school in Manningtree, had made it to the last seven of the mega talent competition.
Both bands' mentor - Louis Walsh - refused to vote either of them off, leaving it to the remaining three judges to seal their fate.
Gary Barlow and Nicole Sherzinger both voted for Union J and ended District3's hopes.
Tulisa said she would have voted for District3.
Greg , 18, said it was the "most gutting feeling in the world".
Louis said District3 were a "ready-made pop band" and a "dream to work with".
He still hopes the lads will bag a record deal.
