SCHOOLCHILDREN from across Tendring picked up vital tips on safety and personal heath at a two week long multi-agency event.
More than 1,300 children were at the two week long Crucial Crew held at Valley Farm Holiday Park in Clacton with the aim of raising awareness of the potential dangers young people face as they grow up.
The initiative was organised by Tendring Council and attracted ten and eleven-year-olds from a total of 35 schools.
They were challenged to a series of scenarios on subjects such as road safety, safety at the seaside, first aid, drugs and alcohol and personal health.
Among the organisations taking part were Essex Police, Essex County Fire and Rescue, RNLI, British Red Cross, Be Safe Be Cool, the Stop Smoking Service and the Essex Young People’s Drug and Alcohol Service.
