THE number of unemployed people claiming benefits in Tendring has risen for the second month running.
The Office for National Statistics’ latest figures show 3,275 were out of work and claiming the dole in October – 3.9 per cent – compared to 3,230 in September.
Despite the increase, there were 380 more people in work compared with last October.
There are currently 487 jobs being advertised at the district’s job centres, which mean there are seven people chasing each vacancy.
