A PENSIONER has received an award for dedicating years of his life to charity fundraising.
Norman Harbach, 77, of Colchester Road, Lawford, received the award for 37 years of “distinguished service” raising vital funds for the St John Ambulance.
Mr Harbach achievements include helping to raise £187,000 for the service in 2004 and fundraising every week at the charity’s Manningtree headquarters.
Mr Harbach said: “I have fundraised for them since I was in the forces. “I felt chocked when I knew I was getting the award.
“I have spent a lot of time fundraising for them so I was really proud.”
