CHILDREN have been dancing, rapping and even shaving off their hair for charity this week.

Youngsters at Manningtree High School have delved deep into their pockets to donate to good causes during the school’s annual charities week.

Starting on Monday students hosted fundraising events during their lunch and breaktimes, which saw them sell cakes to classmates and get sponsored for activities including leg waxing and having wet sponges thrown at them.

Chris Hayes, who co-ordinated the week of events, said: “The week has gone fantastically.

“I have been eating so many cakes and sweets.

“The events have been great too."

As part of the week 15-year-old Bethany Le Messurier had her hair shaved off to raise cash for chosen charity, Cancer Research.

Other charities that the week is raising money for include NSPCC, Help for Heroes, Guide Dogs, Make a Wish Foundation, St Helena Hospice, and the RSPCA.
