HUNDREDS of pounds have been donated towards a church’s renovation project.
Mistley Parish Council has granted £500 to Manningtree Methodist Church, in South Street, as part of a £115,000 renovation project for the 205-year-old church.
Most of the cash has already been raised but approximately £8000 is still needed David Shearmur, church steward, said the money would towards repair work on the parapets, cupola and electrical fire safety system.
Work on the church is planned to begin in March.
