Decision for controversial Parkeston housing development postponed

A DECISION for a controversial housing development near an oil refinery has been postponed.

Tendring Council’s planning committee had recommended plans for 30 homes near the Petrochem Carless Oil Refinery in Parkeston for approval.

But the decision, which was due to be made on Thursday was postponed as reports from Essex County Council highways agency and the environmental agency had not been received.

The plans have previously come under fire from campaigners for the sites proximity to the refinery.

The decision will now be made when the planning committee next meets on Thursday January 29.
