A FAMILY has hit out at landlords after their home became covered in damp and mildew.
Conditions in Maria Latchford’s home in Oakley Road, Dovercourt, became so bad the toilet and bath fell through the floor boards in August.
Maria, 49, and her children aged 17 and 19, had to use a portable toilet in the back yard for months while builders installed a new bathroom.
Damp continues to rot windows and floors and can be seen from floor to ceiling in some bedrooms.
Maria and her aunties Bobby White, 66, and Carol Collard, 60, from Kirby Cross, have been trying to get help from Maria’s landlord and estate agent Oakpark Properties for months.
They said a Tendring Council environmental health report found it was a condensation problem.
