Poor infrastructure blocks flats plan

SEWAGE facilities are not good enough to cope with more housing in a busy street, it has been claimed.

Harwich Town Council has deemed an application for eight flats “over development” of Langley Close, Dovercourt.

Permission is being sought to build the block, which would include four one bedroom flats and four two bedroom flats next to listed home Old Vicarage Farm House.

But concerns have been raised that the waste plant serving the street was not coping already, and the new build would cause further problems.

The council objected to the proposal on the grounds of over development and that infrastructure is not sufficient to cope with additional development.

Tendring Council has the final say.
