Rail passengers now using award winning stations
TRAIN station operators were congratulated by their local MP when they were awarded for their safety.
Bernard Jenkin MP presented station managers at Harwich International and Manningtree with a Secure Station award on Friday, January 11.
The accolade recognises security measures taken at the station by looking at station design, management and passenger safety.
The Secure Stations scheme is in partnership with the Department for Transport and the British Transport Police.
While at Manningtree station, Mr Jenkin took a look around a new cycling compound which provides improved and more secure storage for cyclists.
