Wix farmer applies for wind turbine

AN organic farmer is hoping to switch to a greener energy supply after applying for a micro-wind turbine.
David Hampton, of Willow Hall Farm, Wix, has applied to install a 15m tall 5kW turbine in land to the south west of the farm which he said would reduce his energy costs.
He said: “We are an organic farm so we are trying to work with natural elements."
Tendring Council will have the final say on the plans.
