TWO cars crashed through a fence into a garden following icy conditions on the roads.

Christine Lewkowytsch, of Rigby Avenue, Mistley, said the accidents on Saturday, January 19, could have proven fatal.

She says her neighbour saw a car at around 3.45pm speed round the road’s corner so fast it spun on ice three times before knocking a concrete post and her husband’s car.

The car landed in the couple’s garden and took their gate with it.

Hours later while they slept on Saturday night and Sunday morning, another car hurtled towards their garden and knocked the post over.

Now....there is two VERY good reasons why the council should grit these " off the main drag " sites. Across the way , we have the Stourveiw Estate....with several hundred properties , with only one way in - one way out , part of the road slopes for quite a distance......and there is even a primary school here . Come on...." WE WANT GRITTERS "...!!
