Cash for a good cause
2:00pm Wednesday 6th February 2013 in News By Lorraine Price
LIFESAVERS have been given a boost from the sale of poetry books in Harwich.
Collin Rossini, of Main Road, Dovercourt, has donated £100 from the sale of his latest poetry book, Harwich and Other Places, to the Harwich RNLI.
The book was his 12th created to raise cash for the lifeboat charity - to date he has raised more than £1,000.
Mr Rossini said: “The RNLI really relies on donations and it is a particularly thankless job.
“They put their lives on the line for others and it is all voluntary - they all have jobs and then when that buzzer goes they have to be on the boat.”
Mr Rossini is now hoping to put together a book of photographs of Harwich to raise more money for the town’s RNLI.
