Pet cemetery could be in store for district

ANIMAL lovers have welcomed plans to create a pet cemetery in Tendring.

Nick Turner, Tendring Council’s cabinet member for the environment, has proposed a series of changes to bereavement services in the district, which could also include a new woodland burial site.

The move is aimed at increasing the services provided to residents and increasing the council’s income. The plans come following an announcement that the cremators at Weeley Crematorium are nearing the end of their life and will need to be replaced.

The proposal will be considered by a council scrutiny committee before any decision is made by the cabinet.
