ESSEX Police will spend almost £600,000 working out plans to save £1.2million.

The force has to save £42.2million by 2015 following Government cuts.

About £32million savings have been found and another £10million identified meaning the force has identified how to get 97 per cent of the way there.

But in the budget for 2013/14 more than £230,000 will be spent on helping the reform team to finish the job.

More than £356,000 will also be spent reviewing the blueprint in 2013/14.

This is despite the blueprint only coming into force in March 2012 and the last review and changes being implemented less than a month ago in January this year.
