75p council tax cut for Tendring taxpayers

RESIDENTS will see a 75p cut to the amount of tax they pay Tendring Council next year.

Councillors approved a 0.5 per cent cut in the authority’s council tax precept for 2013/4 at a meeting at Clacton Town Hall on Tuesday.

Council leader and finance boss Peter Halliday said the cut was being made despite the authority being forced to find another £3.3million in savings following Government cuts.

The council’s budget included £94,000 for Tendring Citizen’s Advice Bureau and £300,000 to extend the council’s free parking scheme for residents in council-owned car parks.
