Stolen christmas wreath reunited with owner
A VICTIM of a Christmas wreath theft has been reunited with her decoration after an article in The Standard.
Hannah Elmer, of Harwich Road, said it was a “sad time of the times” that her Christmas wreath was taken by thieves at the end of December.
Brave neighbour Lorraine Hood, 38, chased thieves down Harwich Road in Great Oakley after noticing hers had been ripped from her door too.
She has been holding on to her wreath as well as two others since the incident on December 30.
Hannah, 34, said: “I can’t believe firstly that some people are so sad as to steal then, and that secondly someone was so kind as to chase after those people and try to reunite the wreaths with their owners. “It’s a sad sign of the times that I was actually glad that the wreath made it to Christmas day without being stolen.
“It’s nice to know that there was someone there to get them back. Thank you Lorraine Hood.”
The owner of a plain green wreath with a red ribbon is still being held by Lorraine. Anyone with information should email hms.news@nqe.com.
