THE LANDLORD of a dilapidated eyesore has been told he has a week to sort out his buidling.
Neighbours of 20 Market Street, Harwich, have been campaigning for seven years to get the site cleared up.
A fire in the top floor flat in April meant the building was no longer safe to live in and had to be torn down.
The owner said a deal with his insurers was imminent in September but work is yet to happen.
Tendring Council has given him until next Friday, March 1, to come forward with a plan of action.
If he fails to do so the council would look at options which could include enforcement action.
