Internet hub to 'save High Street' opens today
9:00am Saturday 23rd February 2013 in News By Helen Barnett
A BARBER shop has opened an internet hub today in a bid to keep a town’s heart beating.
Salon 2 built the additional facility in Main Road to bring people into Dovercourt town centre.
The internet hub in High Street launches today, February 23, with free haircuts for boys up to five-years-old and balloon modelling.
Owner Ann Catten realised the public need for the net when speaking to her clients.
“People think everyone has a computer but after researching I found they certainly do not,” she said.
“I was quite surprised. Lots of times we have crew from the ships come in to town and ask if we have wi-fi as well.
“I’m trying to do something to keep Harwich alive."
