Cinema to get boost from shoppers
A HIGH street shop is hoping to raise hundreds of pounds for a historic cinema.
The Original Factory Shop in Kingsway, Dovercourt has chosen the Electric Palace Trust as its charity partner for 2013.
The 100 year old cinema in old Harwich was picked after shoppers were called on to nominate a good cause via the shop's facebook page.
A programme of fundraising activity will soon be planned, with a minimum target of £500 to be raised.
Matthew Newell, shop manager, said: “We’re very excited about raising money for the Electric Palace Trust this year and we’ll be meeting with them now to make sure we take advantage of every opportunity to support them."
