THE GRANDMOTHER of Beth Tweddle has praised her hard work and commitment following her win on Dancing on Ice.

Beth, 27, beat favourite Matt Lapinkas to win the ITV show on Sunday with her partner Dan Whiston, performing the Bolero made famous by Jane Torvill and Christopher Dean.

Thelma Tweddle, Beth’s Grandmother, said: “She did really well and she worked hard at it. She got on with her partner from the very beginning.”

Mrs Tweddle, from Colchester Road, Lawford, said: “I was just really nervous about it but I am really happy she has won. I am very surprised she took to it so well.

“She had never skated before, she just took to it very well and she worked very hard.”
