Dog ban woman wants more on land

A WOMAN who was banned from keeping large numbers of dogs has applied for permission to home up to 14 on her land.

Neighbours were angered by Deborah Fuller keeping up to 50 mostly Rhodesian Ridgebacks on land at Harwich Road, Lawford.

Tendring Council issued her an enforcement notice in 2011 to reduce the number of dogs at land behind a semi-detached home after neighbours complained of noise and smell.

The notice read she had a large shed on the land as well as a kennel which could fit seven dogs in.

The enforcement meant Mrs Fuller was only allowed to keep up to six dogs on part of the land nearest the road. But she has submitted a new application to Tendring Council for a certificate of lawful use to keep up to 14 dogs.

Peter Le Grys who is working as an agent for the owner, said: “While the applicant has kept more than 50 dogs in the past, she is actively reducing this number to comply with the council’s enforcement notice."

Surely the application will be turned down immediately then.
