Man charged after pedestrian suffers broken back in collision

A MAN has been charged with grievous bodily harm with intent after a car collided with a pedestrian.
Rikki Sparkes, 19, of Marine Parade, Dovercourt will appear at Colchester Magistrates Court tomorrow after the incident in the early hours of Wednesday morning.
A car collided with a 31-year-old pedestrian in Lee Road leaving him with multiple injuries including a broken vertebrae.
Mr Sparkes, a labourer, is charged with GBH with intent and dangerous driving.
Anyone who was in the area at the time and has not spoken to detectives is urged to contact them at Clacton CID, on 101.
