People invited to join weight management programme
7:30am Thursday 29th August 2013 in News
PEOPLE are being invited to sign up to an eight-week weight management programme being run by Anglian Community Enterprise (ACE).
There are 500 free places available on the Shape Up programme, which starts on September 10.
Chris Lawrence, Health Development Co-ordinator at ACE, said: “The programme is available to adults living in the Colchester and Tendring area with a Body Mass Index (BMI) of 28 or more. If people aren’t sure of their BMI, we can easily help them calculate it or they can pop into Cornerstone in Colchester town centre and use our health-check station.
“The programme is held at numerous locations across north east Essex during the day and evening so there should be a location and time to suit everyone. A new venue this time round is the Creffield Road Medical Centre in Colchester.”
The Shape Up programme has been devised by health professionals, psychologists and dieticians who have worked with overweight people.
Anyone interested in attending the Shape Up programme can contact 01206 363002 or call into Cornerstone in Sir Isaac’s Walk, Colchester.
