Centaur one of oldest wooden barges in the country

THOUSANDS of pounds are being spent restoring a historic sailing barge built in Harwich more than a century ago.
The Maldon-based Thames Sailing Barge Trust has received £100,000 from the Heritage Lottery Fund towards the conservation of the Centaur.
The barge was built in 1895 in Harwich and is one of the oldest surviving wooden barges in the country.
