MP hopes safety improvements on the A120 will end 'carnage'
6:00pm Friday 20th September 2013 in News
AN MP hopes the latest safety improvements set for the A120 will see a reduction in “deaths and carnage” on the stretch of road.
Bernard Jenkin, MP for Harwich and North Essex, has been calling on highways ministers to implement safety measures at the Hare Green and Pellens Corner junctions since initial improvements were carried out in 2012.
He said: “We have got a rational decision and I welcome it.
“After the double accident last week I made it clear to the minister we really had to take action.
“We had all the evidence we needed that something had to be done. We know the gap closures were impractical. This is the right decision.
“Hopefully we can see a reduction in the deaths and carnage on this stretch of road.”
