Timetable agreed for review of maternity services
12:00pm Monday 30th September 2013 in News
A TIMETABLE has been set for a review into maternity services in north Essex.
In June this year a report revealed plans to change how maternity services were dealt with in Tendring.
Three of the four proposals would have seen Harwich’s Fryatt Unit closed.
In August the North East Essex Clinical Commissioning Group agreed to delay the shake-up after recommendations from a team of experts from the Department of Health.
Now the board has agreed the timetable outlined in a position statement.
It will see the board presented with a Case for Change report by November of this year. If agreed, options will be presented to the board in January 2014.
Advice will be sought from the health overview scrutiny committee from January to March.
A final decision will be made by the board after consultation process has been carried out.
