A HUGE slice of Constable Country is up for grabs... for a fraction of the price of one of the artist’s paintings.
Hundreds of acres of land immortalised by East Bergholt artist John Constable have been put on the market with a £1.75million price-tag.
Campaigners are now calling for the National Trust to buy the 230 acres of land belonging to Hall Farm, at Stratford St Mary.
The landscape features in many of the artist’s works, including one of his most famous – Dedham Vale.
The painting dates back to 1802 and is currently on show at London’s Tate Gallery.
