Africa studies see pupils led a merry dance
12:00pm Saturday 12th October 2013 in News
SCHOOL pupils have been given a taste of Africa to aid their learning.
Youngsters at Highfields Primary School in Lawford have been learning about the continent and how it relates to their lives.
The pupils, from years four and five, took part in workshops throughout the day learning about music, art and jewellery from Africa.
At the end of the day the pupils performed for their parents in a special assembly – showing off their newly learnt drumming, singing and dancing skills.
Teacher Chris Deane said: “To give them first-hand experience, the children enjoyed a day of workshops, where they had the opportunity to participate in African drumming, singing, story-telling and beading sessions."
