Hospital complaints procedure to be improved

THE complaints procedure at Colchester’s hospitals will be beefed up.
Complaint responses only hit time targets once in 15 months between June 2012 and August 2013.
A report to Colchester Hospital University Foundation NHS Trust directors yesterday noted the complaints procedure was overly complex, and a large number of complaints were actually about poor responses to original, minor issues.
An improvement plan was presented by Angela Haigh, the new head of PALS and complaints, who began work on Monday.
