A PROMISING young poet has won a national award for young writers.
Ten-year-old Demi-Leigh Tierney has picked up the Young Writers creativity award.
The national awards recognise writing talent and Demi-Leigh’s poem will now be published in the Young Writer's anthology.
Each entrant had to write a poem about monsters. Demi-Leigh wrote her poem entitled, Midnight Monster from Mars, while at school.
Proud parents Andrew and Kim said: “We had no idea she was doing this at school until a letter came through the post. A copy of that book will go in every library in the British Isles and Northern Ireland.”
