GREATER Anglia has pledged to run virtually disruption-free train services at the weekends next year.
It has worked with Network Rail to keep the amount of planned disruptive engineering work and the need for replacement buses to the minimum.
Just two Saturdays and six Sundays between February 15 and March 30, will see interrupted travel on the Norwich to London mainline, so improvements can take place to the railway.
Replacement buses will be running.
There are no full days planned to involve bus replacement after the end of March for the rest of 2014.
Richard Schofield, Network Rail Route Managing Director for Anglia, said: "We recognise there is never a convenient time to close the railway and we’ve worked hard to honour the commitment we made to reduce the amount of disruptive engineering work carried out over weekends, a positive initiative we’re pleased to extend into 2014.”
