Hard-working youngsters commended for achievements in workplace
4:00pm Thursday 12th December 2013 in News
HARD-WORKING youngsters in Tendring have been commended for their achievements in the workplace.
A total of 35 Career Track learners, who have been on apprenticeships or have gained a qualification during the past 12 months, celebrated their efforts at a special event.
They were presented with certificates by Tendring Council vice-chairman Val Guglielmi at Clacton Town Hall on Monday.
She said: “It creates the ability to support people, their organisations and businesses across the whole district,” she said.
“The scheme has launched many successful careers and helped to develop many people – what they learn will stand them in good stead throughout their life.”
Career Track provides work-based learning opportunities in administration and customer service to young people aged over 16 who are employed by the council and businesses in the district.
The scheme is run by BCT (Braintree, Colchester, and Tendring), a group of training providers and funded by Colchester Institute.
