ONE lucky lad illuminated a High Street... with a little help from the mayor and Father Christmas.
Thomas Fisher was picked from hundreds of children to turn on the Christmas lights in Dovercourt High Street.
After the big switch-on there were craft stalls, stilt-walking Christmas trees, balloon animals and live music to entertain the crowds.
The evening was organised by the Harwich and Dovercourt Partnership and chairman Lesley Pollard said it was a great success.
βIt is the best evening of the year,β she said.
