HARWICH could be set to lose two of its six PCSOs.
The town currently has six PCSOs but two of these roles are vacant due to a retirement and someone leaving the job.
These two vacancies may not be filled it was revealed at a Police and Crime Commissioner meeting held in Harwich on Wednesday night.
PCC Nick Alston was joined by Chief Insp Cat Barrie, district commander in Tendring, Insp Christopher Willis of Harwich Police and Lynda McWilliams from Tendring Council.
Chief Insp Barrie said: “I cannot confirm whether these will be filled but I would say to you it will be highly unlikely."
Insp Barrie said she would be happy to speak with the town council about match funding PCSOs for the town.
