A LOUD speaker sounded in the middle of the night to warn residents to evacuate their homes.
Police officers knocked on resident’s doors and sounded a loud speaker to advise people on Low Road and surrounding roads in Dovercourt to leave on Thursday night.
Water flooded The Walls and Mistley Quay seeping into basements after hundreds of residents there were also evacuated.
Mistley Place Park had to move sheep and alpacas into different pens as water seeped into their Low Meadow.
