HARWICH has starred in a new TV arts show fronted by veteran broadcaster David Dimbleby.

The Question Time frontman is sailing around Britain in his cutter Rocket for a new BBC1 series about the rich heritage of the coast’s maritime art and culture.

The TV presenter was shown around the Electric Palace Theatre, Treadmill Crane and Maritime Museum in the Low Lighthouse by the Harwich Society.

Harwich appeared in the final episode of the four part series called Britain and the Sea.

The filming took place in the Low Lighthouse where Mr Dimbleby talked about how the pastime of yachting came to England.

He showed models of yachts presented to King Charles II by the Dutch.
