COMPUTER console competitions, Manningtree’s The Voice, a dress-up day, and throwing wet sponges at teachers were just some of the innovative ways students raised cash for charity.

Manningtree High School held its annual Charities Week, which sees a variety of activities held to raise funds for more than 30 charities.

Assistant headteacher Nick Farrow said the money was still being counted, but is expected to reach almost £5,000.

“It is just fantastic to see the charity week in full flow, the whole school gets involved and it is just great to see young people working hard to raise money for so many worthwhile causes,” he said.
