HUNDREDS of primary schoolchildren brought Christmas cheer to Mistley when they sang at a special church concert.

Pupils sang their hearts out at Mistley’s St Mary’s and St Michael’s Church for the Magic of Christmas Music concert.

More than 100 performers from Mistley Norman, Lawford, Highfields Primary in Lawford, and Brantham’s Brooklands Primary School took to the stage for performances of traditional and modern carols and Christmas songs.

Around 350 people turned up to watch the performance and it was so popular people had to be turned away.

David Shearmur, compère for the evening, said: “It went very well. Each school produces their own items and some community carols all link it together."
