A HISTORIAN has excelled this year by giving more than 30 talks to schools, organisations and groups in North Essex.
Harwich Society vice chairman David Whittle has worked with archivists David Male and Linda Morgan to create eight different presentations including everything from the evolution of street names to the defence of Harwich Harbour during the Napoleonic wars.
Mr Whittle is constantly developing new ideas and has enjoyed his hectic 2013.
“It is a pleasure to be able to use the society’s archive to promote Harwich and hopefully provide enjoyment to what is becoming a very wide audience.
“It is particularly nice to be asked back to places to give talks on subjects and this is happening more and more.”
