A CHURCH hall was packed to the rafters for an annual Community Christmas Lunch.
Turkey with all the trimmings and Christmas pudding was served at St Mary’s and St Michael’s Church in Mistley to 70 guests.
They then took part in hearty carol singing including everyone’s favourite festive tunes.
Secretary Joy Baker said: “It was absolutely marvellous.
“This has become a tradition now after we started it in 2008 where we invited older members of the community and disabled people to gather and enjoy a home cooked meal and good conversation for two or three hours.
“What is even nicer is that Pakell’s Funeral Directors in Manningtree have got involved and created a support group for bereaved people.
“They also sent representatives to wait on tables and do some washing up.
“Thanks go to all the team of church members who produced the lunch with able assistance from Saul Hunnaball and Andrew Petts from Paskell’s.”
