FARMLAND between Bradfield and Wix could be transformed into a Megawatt Valley after plans for a fourth solar farm were unveiled.
Proposals for a giant sun farm at Burnt Ash Farm near Spinnels Lane have been submitted to Tendring Council.
Kinetica Solar wants to build the farm across 63 acres of land.
This would generate 13.5MW of renewable energy – enough to power up to 3,400 homes.
The panels which will be 1.6m tall will be spread across two fields.
If it goes ahead it is expected to save around 164,000 tonnes in emissions.
Chris Akrill, director of Town Planning Services, acting on behalf of Kinetica, said: “There would be about eight hectares of panels which is about a third of the total area covered by the site."
