Kids club gets cash boost

YOUTH groups are celebrating after being awarded hundreds of pounds in cash boosts.

A total of 12 organisations are getting grants thanks to the Grassroots charity.

The charity collects money from a number of fundraisers and businesses and distributes it to worthy causes.

Mistley Kids Club, which provides care, recreation and education for children out of school hours and during school holidays has been given a grant of £489.

The money will pay for sensory equipment, coloured foam mats, outdoor bean bags and portable day beds.

Manager, Claire Moss, said: “We have 260 plus children on our books and nine of them have special or additional needs.

“We need lots of different equipment to help those children so it’s great to get a grant to help us.”

Dedham Youth Club was awarded £350 towards their costs.
