RESIDENTS are being offered the chance to recycle their Christmas trees this week as part of a new initiative.

Tendring Council officers will be at six locations across the district to collect trees in January 11.

They will also be on hand to answer any questions people may have about the Council’s overall recycling service.

A number of collection venues have changes since the initiative was first announced.

The teams will be at Jaywick Resource Centre from 12 noon to 1.30pm instead of Great Bentley Green at that time.

An earlier change was St Osyth Village Hall from 10am until 11.30am, instead of being at Brightlingsea Town Council.

All other venues will remain as previously notified, including Weeley Crematorium from 10am to 11.30am, Frinton’s Crescent Gardens from 12 noon until 1.30pm and Clacton’s Martello Car Park and Harwich’s Park Pavillion Car Park from 2pm to 3.30pm.

All the trees taken to the venues will be shredded and the chippings reused.
