TWO projects must wait to hear whether they will receive cash from Tendring’s Big Society Fund.

More than £350,000 has been awarded to various groups and organisations from the Tendring Council fund since it went live in March 2011.

Ramsey War Memorial Hall has applied for £40,000 to replace outdated play equipment.

It wants to remove the existing equipment for over 25s and replace it with an enclosed children’s play area suitable for those aged up to 12 and a trim trail for all ages.

The applicant will be invited to attend the Big Society working party to confirm the various stages that it’s match funding is at.

The project could also receive cash from Essex County Council’s community initiatives funding, the Gannett Foundation, Essex Community Foundation, Essex Environment Trust and Essex Playing Fields Association.

Great Bromley Parish Council has also applied for £5,000 to fund replacement flooring at its village hall.

The working party has asked for more information from the council before the application can be considered.
