A HOST of unsung heroes from across Tendring have been honoured.
The 21 recipients of the Pride of Tendring Awards – which was held for the first time two years ago - were revealed on Wednesday.
The announcement will be followed by a special ceremony at Clacton’s Princes Theatre on February 7 where the award winners will be presented with their accolades.
The initiative highlights stalwarts from all walks of life who make a real difference to others in the community.
The awards are run by Tendring Council, sponsored by Dong Energy and are supported by the Clacton, Frinton and Walton Gazette and the Harwich and Manningtree Standard. .
Council chairman Neil Stock is delighted the awards are being staged again this year.
“The concept of recognising the achievements of individual residents in our district gives us the chance to celebrate so much of what is so good about our community,” he said.
The recipients include John and Jen Upson, Ben Chandler, Betty Blower, Brenda Davy, Clive French, Hayley Lovett, Jamie Robinson, Jane Robinson, John Dunnett, Richard Colley, John Wolton, Margaret Stone, Marjorie Culham, Nicola Moss, Norman Jacobs, Pandora Sarson, Peter Bareham, Walter Bensilum, Susan Flanagan, Suzanne McAree and Tracy Cooke.
